Críticas

The Bunny Side of Easter by Linda Rooks was a wonderful book. Our five-year-old was enthralled with the story, the characters and didn't want it to end. The way Ms. Rook rhymed the words made them flow out of my mouth while I read, sounding more like a song than just a story. The story itself was a beautiful lesson on unconditional love. The characters were ones that you fell in love with. The illustrations were beautifully done. Wonderful book, great message-definitely one I will read over and over and share with our friends. I received this book for free in exchange for our honest opinion from Book Club Network. I have posted my review on Amazon, Deeper Shopping, Goodreads, and Barnes and Noble. By Cheri Swalwell A wonderful book for young children. It will open the door for discussions about what Easter is all about and why we celebrate it. A rabbit named Hal is stealing carrots from a farmer's patch and runs away right before getting caught. He finds himself in the forest, lost, not knowing which way to go. He meets a duck, a monkey, a young angel and soon a tiger looking for prey. Hal rescues the little angel from the tiger by his willingness to sacrifice himself to save her. A similar concept to what Jesus did for us. Only Jesus was sinless and Hal, not so much, because he was stealing carrots. But he was willing to die to save another. I enjoyed how the author elaborated at the end about the full moon of spring each year being tied into Easter and why it's not on the same date each year. I also visited her website (bunnysideofeaster.com) and found interesting back stories on the book as well as fun games for children and information for parents and grandparents on how best to use the story to tell about sacrifice and great love. I received this book free from Bookfun.org for my honest review, which I have given. Gail E. Hollingsworth I really enjoyed this book. I read it to my little boy right after I received it. He loved it and wanted me to read it again the next day. I like that this brings the magic of the Easter bunny for a young child to a Christian point of view. Too often we embrace the commercial side of holidays and don't look for the Christian side of it. I want my kids to know that Easter is because of Jesus and this gives me a way. I don't want him to think that Easter is just the bunny and candy. Thank you for an awesome book. I received a free copy of this book from The Book Club Network for my honest review. Heather As a Christian mother and grandmother I always wanted Easter to mean more than baskets, candy and colored eggs but I also wanted my daughter to experience the joy of hunting eggs at Easter. I wish that I had been able to share this book with my daughter but I will certainly read "The Bunny Side of Easter" to my small granddaughter in the years ahead. Linda W. Rook has used a small rabbit named Hallelujah Rabbit, aka Hal, to explain how he became a hero and earned the title Easter Bunny. She uses his willingness to save Audrey the angel to symbolize the sacrifice associated with Easter. Most of the story is written in the usual format but Roth does insert a few rhymes to grab a child's attention. This is a book that should be in those Easter baskets we all like to give! Thanks to the Book Club Network for furnishing this complimentary book in exchange for my honest review. Connie Saunders My granddaughter asked me to read it twice one evening and then again the next morning! Quite an endorsement for a perfectly beautiful book by a talented writer. The illustrations are wonderful as well. P. Davis I gave this to my grandchildren and they loved it. The pictures are amazing. Linda Rooks is an inspiring writer and I enjoy and recommend her books Cheryle M. Touchton Hands down this is our kids favorite Easter Book! I love how it ties the Easter Bunny to the true meaning of Easter! Laura I purchased this book for our boys ages 11, 7 and 4. We really enjoyed the story and the message! It kept our boys interested (which is tough =)) and once we finished they were eager to share it with our neighbors children! Great message and illustrations! I highly recommend this book! Also, we are always anxious to see a full moon now and love spending time looking for the bunny! Very cute book! Sebnick88

I read the book to our four-year-old grandson, Luke, last night and he absolutely was enthralled with the story! Such a beautiful job of capturing the heart of what it means to sacrifice for others; a tough concept for all of us, but especially for children. The book led us to a great talk about Jesus' sacrifice making Him the greatest hero of all. --Becky Hunter, wife of Senior Pastor Joel C. Hunter, Northland a Church Distributed, Longwood, Florida"

Reseña del editor

On Easter morning, as parents watch their children scurry about the yard, looking for Easter eggs, many feel a disconnect between the legend of the Easter bunny and the real meaning of Easter. The Bunny Side of Easter fills the gap, taking children on an exciting and charming adventure with hints of allegory that point children to the true significance of Easter. The Bunny Side of Easter is an exciting adventure about an ordinary rabbit whose act of heroism makes him the Easter bunny and the rabbit on the moon. Lost in a forest on Easter eve, a mischievous rabbit, a plucky duck and a playful monkey face a fearsome tiger. Can they save themselves and the little angel who was kind to them? Will the angel discover the truth about her power? A tale of fears faced, friendships gained, and faith discovered.
