Artificial Intelligence in Education '01: Vol 68 (Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications) - Tapa dura

This text presents the proceedings from the 10th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education, one from a series of conferences designed to report on the state of research in the field of intelligent system theory and technology for educational application. This field is interdisciplinary and brings together researchers from the domains of computer science, psychology, linguistics, sociology and philosophy (to name a few). Researchers contributed papers that explore the emerging roles of mobile computing and distributed technologies in intelligent educational applications and look at artificial intelligence in a wired and wireless future.

AIED'01 is the 10th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education, part of an ongoing series of biennal international conferences designed to report top quality research in the field of intelligent system theory and technology for educational applications. It provides opportunities for the cross-fertilisation of information and ideas from reseachers in the many fields that make up this interdisciplinary research area, including: computer science, psychology, linguistics, sociology, and philosophy. The theme of the 2001 conference was AI-ED in a Wired and Wireless Future. Papers that explore the the emerging roles of mobile computing and distributed technologies in intelligent educational applications were particularly encouraged.
