Upsie Downsie has convinced his mother he's having trouble falling asleep, so she brings in the neighborhood experts to help. They try lullabies, tedious recitations, storytelling, a massage, a warm bath, and even counting, but they all succumb to sleep, leaving Upsie to the next neighbor.

Eventually, Doctor Wumsie; Upsie Downsie's father, Popsie; Gypsy Jumsie; and all the other neighbors are snoring, fast asleep in Upsie Downsie's room. Then, and only then, does he fall asleep.

Jana Dillon is a prolific author and illustrator of children's books, including Lucky O'Leprechaun, Lucky O'Leprechaun Comes to America, and illustrations for Little Thumb. A second-generation Irish American, she frequently visits elementary schools to teach children about the creative processes of writing and illustrating books. Her vibrant, captivating illustrations have been exhibited in several museums. She lives in Canton, Massachusetts.
