Reseña del editor:
Play It Down is a fast-paced delightful story about four senior golfers in various stages of their lives, from approaching retirement to having been retired for eight years. The main character, Jake, is conflicted by the many things he must consider before retiring from his long career in management. The title, Play It Down, serves as a metaphor in the story for properly preparing for the many challenging issues that Jake must face as he contemplates leaving the workplace for good. You will soon find out what makes Jake’s decision to retire so difficult, and you may be surprised to learn the real issues that Jake struggled with prior to pulling the plug. While its intended audience is primarily people approaching retirement, the lessons conveyed in the story are universal and are applicable to all ages and all circumstances. The subject of retirement and the setting of golf were selected merely as convenient and amusing vessels for conveying the lessons. Enjoy!
Biografía del autor:
Dave Cox, upon retiring from a long and rewarding career in public service, set aside plans he had made for his much anticipated ‘free time’ to document the many and varied adventures (and diversions) that he encountered (and endured) over the course of his adult life. His formal education in Management, Human Resources, and Computer Science guided him along a successful path with long engagements in urban planning and public health, both of which are sure to inspire later writings that need to be shared, but his diversions into treasure hunting, golf, travel, and other interests provided fodder for this and other books in various stages of completion.
