Reseña del editor

Legendary bounty hunter Rance Savage is dying of pneumonia. As luck would have it, he is discovered by two brothers, Will and Josh Kincaid, and brought into town to be cared for by Doc Harper. Once he’s recovering, Savage plays on young Josh Kincaid’s starstruck admiration for him by giving him his first real taste of manhood. But when Savage kills a man, he’s put under lock and key—unfairly—to young Josh Kincaid’s way of thinking. To make matters worse, it’s Josh’s own uncle, Jake Kincaid, who is responsible for bringing the bounty man down. Josh has a skewed view of who the real Rance Savage is—and he’s determined to help him get free—no matter the cost. In a deadly twist of fate, Savage finally is in the position of power he’s been seeking for twenty years—to kill the man he blames for making him a cripple. A chance discovery of a long-hidden rifle is the catalyst that brings freedom from a terrible secret—and death in its wake. How many lives will JASON KILKENNY’S GUN destroy?

Biografía del autor

Kit Prate grew up during the era of western films and prime time TV westerns; when the line between outlaw and hero was clearly defined and good always triumphed over evil. Her playgrounds were the vacant fields of a small town in Illinois that also was home to an active stockyard, where she was given free run of the pastures and the barns. She saw first hand the day-to-day work of the cowboys who rode the stock trains from Kansas City and beyond to tend both cattle and sheep. It was there, at the age of five, she learned to ride; as well as how to rope and – at the tender age of ten – how to build a hand-rolled cigarette. Years later, her dream of living west of the Mississippi became a reality. The opportunity to have horses was an added plus; and country living became her preferred way of life. A later career as a private contractor with the Bureau of Indian Affairs provided the chance to travel all through the West and Southwest, living and working on reservations and learning tribal cultures. Long weekends became a time for exploring; with horseback rides into the same countryside she had grown up reading about, including several memorable trips into the interior of Monument Valley. Kt has written in other genres, but her first love is westerns. She points out that she does not write history; she writes fiction: the difference being she tells the stories not how it always was, but how it could have been.
