Slipstream’s season of transformation comes to a close with the premiere of P.Y.G., inspired by the myth Pygmalion and Galatea and George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion. But it wouldn’t be a Slipstream show without some major twists thrown into the new adaptation. This P.Y.G. is a reality show, set in today’s media-obsessed culture, and focuses on making “The Next Pretty Young Girl”. In the nationwide search for the girl who will become the next big celebrity, the hot shot producer (eager for ratings gold), and the aspiring director (desperate for a way to break into the big leagues of film), stumble upon a contestant who just might change everything, a transgender girl named Alyssa.
