Covering each stage of the process from sowing the seeds in the field, through the gathering, the manufacturing, the purchase, the cooking to finally eating the meal at the table, the book is a frank, thoughtful, occasionally controversial but always down-to-earth look at the various emotions generated by the things we eat and drink.

Edited by Joe Clark, author of the similarly themed WHAT I HAD FOR DINNER (2013) and the totally unrelated DAVE: THE DRUMMER'S TALE (2015). Contains contributions from the Hard Rain group of South Manchester poets who meet regularly in the Thairish Cafe in Levenshulme.
