If you fee a fault in another, don't make it the fubjeét of eonverfation hide it with as much care as if it was your own. Do not think yourfelfjuiti. Fied by laying that what you ré ort to another's difadvantage is true ital! The failings which are true of the belt of us were to be told to our dearelt friend, perhaps all our virtues could fcarce fe cure his efleem. But this rule mull not estend to the concealing any thing by which another may be injured in his property or chandler, if by revealing it the t1 may be prevented; and this is the only inhance in'which you are ai lowed to t'peak of the faults of Others.
