HIGH SCHOOL is a time when students feel invincible! Some define it as the GREATEST YEARS you’ll ever have. Lifelong friendships are born and irreplaceable memories are made. After the gown is worn and the cap is thrown students begin to declare their independence and look toward the future. Although the idea of being completely independent seems appealing, there’s a lot of fear for the unknown. Things are no different when preparing to make major life decisions. Rather it’s making the transition from high school to college life; or trying to sustain while you journey throughout, the process is daunting. Everyone has a belief system that guides their lives, but the question is what do you do when what you believe is the truth quickly proves to be false? When you’re treading on new territory, and you aren’t exactly sure what to expect, how do you adjust? Is it really possible to succeed? Who am I? What’s next? These are some of the questions a young lady named Virtue was abruptly confronted with when she decided to pursue a higher education. Virtue was a first generation college student, blazing her own trail and leaving footprints for others to follow. She formulated a system she liked to call, The Four Tiers of Truth to help her cope with her fears and anxiety. The Four Tiers of Truth consist of: Spirituality, Education, Relationships and Taking Action! To create this system she referred to her notebook for inspiration. She also drew from the many lessons she learned throughout her life, and the many, many, come to Jesus meetings she had with her mentor Ms. Tri Tri. She's sharing her story in hopes of inspiring and empowering you all to NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS! She wants to guide you as you transition through college and life. Katrina D. Williams is a 27 year old from Fort Worth T.X! She wears many titles: author, life coach, consultant and founder of the Memoirs of Virtue Nonprofit Foundation. She’s a first generation college student that has a B.S degree in University Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington. For three years she worked as an intern in the Fraternity and Sorority Life Department at Texas Christian University. Is she GREEK you ask? Why of course.... She is a PROUD Member of ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY INCORPORATED! She has experienced many adversities throughout her life; but her faith in God and the support of her family keeps her grounded. Her humble beginnings never stopped her from DREAMING! Her mission in life is to help others realize their potential and capitalize on their opportunities no matter what the circumstance. She believes in ACTIVELY influencing the youth and striving to BE THE CHANGE! Over the past six years she has served as a mentor sharing her knowledge with students all over North Texas!
