On November 22, 1969, I had a dynamic spiritual experience while being born again. My eyes were open and standing before me in all of his glory was the living, resurrected Jesus. As he introduced himself, the darkness that had me bound suddenly fled away in his brightness. Jesus spoke to me, saying that he had come to set me free and that it was time for me to come into the prophetic destiny for which I had been born. That night I received the directive to take the word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit to the nations of the earth, introducing them to a life in Christ where the supernatural would become natural. This ministry began on the day of my first encounter with God and has continued through this life for 46 years. First, the Holy Spirit sent me into the streets and from the streets to the nations and their leaders. In the churches and city crusades the miracle power of God’s word was confirmed through signs and wonders, testifying that Jesus Christ is alive and present as Lord, and he is here to reveal himself as our savior, deliverer, and the one who speaks.

My entire prophetic testimony has been a continued revelation of the book of Acts and will be shared in a later book.

Though born in 1965, Rachel's story could easily have been set in the 1800s. Wearing long dresses and broad-brimmed bonnets and living without modern conveniences including electricity, telephone, radio, television, or indoor plumbing, she and her two older brothers were shaped by the extreme religious views of her iron-willed, Vietnam-veteran father and malleable, practicalminded mother. The family separated from society and lived under often harsh conditions in an old, abandoned house atop a remote range of hills in Tennessee, awaiting the end of the world. Then at 16, Rachel was forced to face the world in which she was not raised to live. She struggled to adjust to an unsheltered life without casting aside the good along with the bad. Eventually, she found her way to a full, balanced, and vibrant life. Rachel shares an amazing story that ultimately testifies of God's faithful and restorative loving care. About the author Rachel is married to a professional tailor and fashion designer, and together they have four mostly grown children. She has a B.S. degree in Language Arts: Secondary Education from Oakwood University (1990), a M.A. degree in English: Professional Writing from the University of Cincinnati (1996), and a Ph.D. in Communication from Regent University (2007). She is currently the chair of the Communication Department at Andrews University.
