Reseña del editor:
This book is a pocket reference guide to the 25 species of amphibians and reptiles that are found in Britain. Amphibians are cold-blooded, smooth-skinned vertebrates that usually hatch as aquatic larvae with gills. The larvae then transform into adults with air-breathing lungs. Britain is home to seven native species and at least seven non-native species of amphibians. Reptiles are cold-blooded, usually egg-laying, vertebrates that have an external covering of scales or horny plates and air-breathing lungs. Britain is home to six native species and at least five non-native species of reptiles. Colour illustrations are provided together with brief information on each species. The little book of British amphibians and reptiles is one of a series of small reference guides designed to take up very little room in a pocket or backpack, but still provide enough information to identify the flora and fauna of Britain.
