Reseña del editor:
This revised edition of You Can't Wallpaper My Igloo takes you on an uncommon voyage to the farthest reaches of the Alaskan wilderness. When Bob and Kathy say good-bye to the "lower forty-eight" in order to accept teaching positions in the unknowns of the forty-ninth, they never imagined the challenges they would face on the "Last Frontier." Thanks to healthy senses of humor, temperatures of 70 below freezing, balky (or no) plumbing, culture shock, and classes full of restless kids who have their own ideas about education, the young teachers remain undaunted, ready for any adversity. With her husband providing the punchline for many embarrassing situations, the author ensures that the reader is likely to laugh all the way through this entertaining and informative account of a unique and vanishing way of life.
Biografía del autor:
Katherine Norberg did not set out in life to live on the edge of civilization. Born in Brussels, Belgium, she enjoyed a very tame and normal childhood. It was when she followed her adventurous husband to Alaska that things got dicey. Luckily for her, she was strong in many ways, something her husband completely took for granted. From getting lost in "white outs," to gutting dinner, to having babies in the wilds, it's all told in You Can't Wallpaper My Igloo with great humor and many grains of salt. Katherine splits her time between Alaska and California, writing, gardening, and visiting her children and grand-children. Other books by the author: Mrs. Jones Steps Out of Bounds; Assisted Murder; Murder Goes A-Hunting; Murder Goes to Auction, and a far-reaching historical novel SEND ME YOUR STRONG.
