In the meantime Jim, Marie and Blade are distracted by a search for 250 pounds of gold that disappeared over two centuries earlier. Their hunt takes them to Pittsburgh, Washington DC, in the heart of the Smithsonian Institute, and back to the Auboretum in Fowler, Ohio. When the deadly assassins, Weasel McGrory and his brother Jack show up from the West Coast, things heat up to a boiling point. Blade devotes his attention to the McGrory brothers, who are also West Coast surfing champions, as Deputy Director Robert Stanton tries to keep an eye on Hanni and Draper. To add to the confusion, the wedding of Dianne and Fred is scheduled to go forward, as the social event of the year in Fowler Township. And, once more, people are starting to disappear in Fowler, Ohio. In the end, it will require the heroism and loyalty of all parties concerned, including Rex Bolt and his henchmen to have any chance of thwarting Hanni’s evil plans.
