Reseña del editor:
Foreword By Pastor Anthony K. Spottsville In life there are some things that you just have no control over. Prepare to suffer the consequences because, for these things you can do nothing to prevent them. One such thing is aging. You cannot avoid the blurred vision, the aching joints, or the loss of firmness or texture in your skin; for some of us, the loss of hair can be a traumatic realization. Coming to terms with the unavoidable can be heart wrenching and depressing at times. I used to be a slim, strong, handsome fellow that was proud of what he saw as he looked into a mirror. Then after a while, I began to notice a change. This change was gradual, but it was nonetheless shocking. As I would sit at my computer and I would look in the mirror across the room, I noticed a fat man staring back at me. Then I realized that the fat man was ME! How did this happen? Where did I go wrong? And then it became clear to me. The answer hit me like a ton of bricks. I was swollen to an almost enormous size as a result of an unavoidable consequence...I'm a Baptist. That's right, a Baptist. Refreshments, bake sales, dinners, fellowships, breaking bread, kind sisters wanting you to try something that they whipped up for dinner and they don't have a significant other to test it out on... Before you know it when you look down to see your shoes and all you see is your belly. You make many attempts to fast and diet but just as you shed a pound or two, here comes another special celebration where food is served; and oh boy, you better hope that there are no funerals. There is no better food that the sisters whip up than that which is to be eaten at a repast. I have come to one conclusion...ITS HARD LOSING WEIGHT WHEN YOU'RE A BAPTIST. Inside the pages of this book are some of the recipes that some of the sisters of the church have contributed. I want to warn you. Beware. The delicious can be dangerous. Eat with caution. Anthony K. Spottsville
