My name is Ottis L Smith I was born December 3, 1990. My I was born premature and the only one who have a disability I wasn’t suppose to survived past day one yet alone day three; the disability that I have is called “Femur Hyplosia Syndrome” basically I’m bound to a wheelchair for the rest of my life, won’t ever grow, and needed a couple of surgeries to correct a few things. All the doctors could tell my family was everything I would never be able to do and asked if my mom wanted to give me up. Well let’s just say if my mom believed any of it or took the deal you most likely wouldn’t be reading this book right now. My opinions about being the only one out of all of us with a disability well you can find throughout my writing. But I’ll tell you one of the upsides to it now, I attended Rancho Dominguez rehabilitation center for physical therapy. At the center I became part of an experiment to see how young a person can be and have the ability to operate a motorized wheel chair. I drove my first power chair at 18 months. I attended George Washington Carver elementary, Hill middle school, and graduated Renaissance high school for the performing Arts in 2009 what use to be known as Reid. I was the only and the first physically challenge student at Renaissance but luckily for me and other coming students they made special accommodations furthermore, to their credit they also help fuel my passion for writing.
