She has earned two Master Degrees one in Public Health (M.P.H.) from Hunter College and the other an M.S.Ed from Alfred University. She is a recipient of "The Teacher of the Year" award from the High Schools Program of Pregnant and Parenting Services. A former adjunct professor at York College in Queens, NY and a former Tour Guide for the Louis Armstrong House Museum where for six years Carolyn gave dynamic presentations and a wealth of educational information to thousands of Museum visitors from around the world about the Armstrong's legacy. The visitor's constant questions about Lucille is what motivated Carolyn to pen Mrs. Armstrong's story. There has never been a book about the woman who was the "power behind Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong". This first informative book on Lucille Armstrong is "a must read".
Carolyn is currently an Educational Consultant, an ESL volunteer teacher, and a Soul-stirring Motivational Speaker.
Her dynamic presentations have been presnted at the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, DC-37, Morris Jumel Mansion Museum, Schomburg Cultural Center, and numerous Libraries, Schools, Workplace Sites, Churches, and Senior Centers. Carolyn was one of the authors invited to participate in the NAACP Centennial Celebration 100 Years, 100 Authors. She has been interviewed on the radio shows "Travel and Leisure" WVOX, and "It's a New Day" WJZD.
Researching unsung women heroes who have contributed to the fabric of our world is Carolyn's passion she is a mentor, a creative spirit and a life long learner.
Carolyn is a member of the Liturgical Dance Ministry in her church, and she is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She has one son,and two beautiful spirit filled Granddaughters. The family resides in New York City.
