This book has been created out of a series of anecdotes extracted from the diary of the author. These selective incidents quoted are down-to-earth, realistic and absorbing. Most stories are derived out of feelings generated by events as the author witnessed them during his long military career. Many of the occurences are true but a few are craftily exaggerated to maximize their effects on the reader's mind. "Memorable Military Moments" is designed for a wide cross section of society but servicemen would derive maximum benefits from its scintillating pages. It would enable the men and women of the U.S. armed forces to switch off for a while on the battlefield and ponder ver the experiences of an Indian soldier. The book has great moral worth for all youngsters who are poised on the threshold of life to face its challenges. Punctuated by orignal verses, the stories have great appeal for the general reader.

Colonel K.S.Rajamani (Retd.) was born on 17 October 1940. He had his schooling at New Delhi and graduated from the Hindu College, Delhi University with Honours in Physics. Commissioned into the Corps of Engineers during 1964, he saw action in the 1965 and 1971 wars in the Western Sector. He passed Indian Administrative Services examination and was selected for the Central Services. But he preferred to serve in the army. After completing his engineering studies at the College of Military Engineering, Pune he served as instructor in Electrical Engineering for under graduate engineering students at the same institution. He also completed his Army Technical Staff Course at the Institution of Armament Studies, Pune. Before his retirement he served in the Defence R&D and completed his post graduation in Electrical Engineering from the Pune University. He presented many technical papers in National and International seminars and is fond of writing articles in journals and newspapers. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and was conferred the Outstanding Engineer Award in Electrical Engineering in 2001 Col. Rajamani worked in several private companies like Hyderabad Batteries, Kirloskars and PARSN builders before taking up writing seriously. He has published a number of articles/ essays in the newspaper and journals. He has a burning desire to write and bequeath many of his memorable experiences for posterity.
