A reporter with CBS since 1962, he has covered the JFK assassination, the civil rights movement and the wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf and Yugoslavia. He has served as a CBS News bureau chief in London and Saigon, and a correspondent for 60 Minutes, 60 Minutes II and 48 Hours.
