Ehis thesis is a survey of the cost and the management of the public school system of Charlevoix, Michigan. The thesis is divided into two parts. Part one compares the costs of the Charlevoix school system with the costs of school system in cities of from five to eight thousand population. It would have been somewhat better to have compared the costs of the charlevcix school system with those of school systems of equal site. But reports for towns of this size are not readily available because there is no uniform method of keeping the records and administrate of towns of less than five thousand population are not requited to make reports to the United States Comissicner o! Education. Bart two discusses the business management of the charlevoix school system. It describes the method of raising, and expending the money used in the running of the Oharlevcix school system.
