Excerpt from Acts Respecting Agricultural Societies, Horticultural Societies, Agricultural Associations, in the Province of Ontario: 2nd Session, 11th Legislature, 6 Edward VII., 1906; As Revised in 1907 and 1908
Should it be found, within one year after the receipt, by the Department, of a society's annual statement, that an officer or officers of the society, had wilfully made false returns, with an intention to deceive, such officer, or officers shall be liable, upon summary conviction before a justice of the peace, to a fine not exceeding $100 or imprisonment in the common goal of the county for a period not exceeding thirty days.
