Es war nothwendig, in die gegenwärtige Darstellung, auch Corelli der schon in meinem Buche „die Violine und ihre Meister ausführlich behandelt worden ist, bineinzuziehen, weil sein Standpunkt als Componist, nachdem ich die Geschichte seiner Vorgänger genauer kennen gelernt hatte, in einem modificirten Lichte erschien, und daher Manches berichtigt werden musste. Wenn ich dabei theilweise das früher über diesen Meister, wie auch über Carlo Farina, von mir Gesagte wiederhole, so war das um der Sache willen nicht zu ver meiden.
