Excerpt from History of the Hubbell Family: Containing Genealogical Records of the Ancestors and Descendants of Richard Hubbell From A. D. 1086 to A. D. 1915
I trust all readers will recognize the fact that this is a carefully prepared work, collated from records duly authenticated 1n the hands of descendants of our emigrant ancestor, supplemented by church, court, county, state, and congressional documents, and that all works to which reference has been made, 'or from which I have obtained extracts; are' to be found in the historical societies and public libraries of the United States and British Provinces and in the British Museum Library, London, England.
I take pleasure in stating that the information obtained from my grandfather, Truman Mallory Hubbell, concerning our ancestors, was correct,* and that it has been corroborated by facts obtained from other descendants of Richard Hubbell the First and from ancient records.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the fascinating history of the Hubbell family, tracing their lineage from their origins in 11th-century England back to the ancient Goths of Asia. Through meticulous research, the author pieces together a rich tapestry of family records, historical documents, and even tombstone inscriptions to paint a vivid picture of the Hubbells' journey through time. Readers will discover how the family name evolved from Hubbald, likely derived from the Danish chieftain Hubba, and witness their migration from England to the New World in the 17th century. The book then follows the Hubbells as they establish themselves in Connecticut, playing a vital role in the founding of towns and churches, and even facing the dangers of Indian conflicts. This is more than just a family history; it's a window into the lives of ordinary people navigating extraordinary times. The struggles and triumphs of the Hubbells offer a glimpse into the broader story of American colonization and the development of a nation. Ultimately, this book reminds us that individual lives are intricately woven into the fabric of history, and that exploring our own family's past can illuminate the larger human narrative in profound and unexpected ways.
