Excerpt from Grundfragen der Homerkritik
Im Sommer 4905 teilte mir der Herr Verleger mit, daß eine neue Auflage der Grundfragen notwendig geworden sei. Deren Her stellung ist dann dadurch, daß ich im. Herbste desselben Jahres Wohnort und Amt zu wechseln hatte, länger als erwünscht gewesen wäre hingezogen worden. Die äußeren Schwierigkeiten, unter denen die neue Bearbeitung schließlich vollendet wurde, können kaum ohne Einfluß auch auf die Gestalt des Werkes geblieben sein. Es soll mir lieb sein, wenn hier und da hervortretende äußere Ungleich mäßigkeiten, unnötige Ausführlichkeit in der Mitteilung von Beleg stellen und dergleichen die einzigen Spuren sind.
