About one-third of its contents is reprinted matter The essay on the Materialistic doctrine of History appeared last summer In German in the Vienna Zeit, while The Rule of the small-middle-class and Two question-begging saws, first saw thelight in 7ustiee the Natural history of the non-conformist conscience in the Free Review the paper on Value in the Transactions of the Political Economy Circle of the National Liberal Club; and Voluntarvism versus Socialism in the Humanitarian. The renzaiuzng papers constituting the bulk of the present volume are now published for the first time.
