World War II still looming over us, the new opportunities that many nations and peoples now have with the end of decades of re pression and intolerance seemingly coming to an end, it is sad that this situation is now reappearing and doing so with a vengeance. It is as if the world had learned nothing.

Mr. Chairman, we cannot discuss the problems of global anti Semitism without focusing on the alarming trend here in our own nation. I am sure some of the witnesses today will speak to this issue. Many of the problems of anti-semitism around the world can be traced right back to the United States, where neo-nazi groups are publishing materials, providing financial and material support and even training their counterparts in other parts of the world.
