Excerpt from Intimations of Immortality: An Ode
This great Ode, composed during the period of l803-06 while Wordsworth resided at Grasmere, was written with two years' interval at least between the first four and the seven remaining stanzas. First printed in 1807 it bore the simple title of Ode with a motto prefixed: Paulò majora canamus. Later on, in 1815, the title was enlarged with characteristic diffuseness to Ode. Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the profound connection between childhood experiences and the concept of immortality. Drawing upon the works of William Wordsworth and Thomas Traherne, the author explores the idea that early childhood holds a special connection to the divine and that the memories of this time continue to shape our lives in profound ways. Through an insightful analysis of Wordsworth's "Ode on Intimations of Immortality," the author reveals how the poet's own childhood memories served as a source of inspiration and spiritual sustenance throughout his life. This exploration is further enriched by the rediscovery of Traherne's long-forgotten writings, which offer a striking parallel to Wordsworth's themes and suggest a shared understanding of the enduring power of childhood experiences. Ultimately, this book invites us to reconsider the significance of our own childhood memories and to recognize the ways in which they continue to inform our understanding of life, death, and the very essence of our being.
