I have only to say that we engaged for the utmost secrecy & exactness & aloo that you should set about making the trials as soon as possible as they wish to bring them out next Leipsig fair--The subjects which they like best are Marchande d'Amour--the 3 french subjects l'oracle d'amour & the two companions--Flaxmans sacrifice to Peace--And any others in the same stile--no boys--Mr. Wedgwood presents bis respectful complimenta to Mr. Watt & takes the liberty of recommending bis friend Mr Leslie to his good offices at Manchester, where he proposes to spend two or three days. Mr Watt will find Mr L. a real philosopher and a valuable acquaintance: he has been for some months a part of Mr Wedgwood's family, & is bringing his sons to a more intimate acquaintance with some branches of philosophy than the time they were at Edinburgh would allow them to acquire OT i Nov. 14.1790. My dear Lord Your Excellency's very obliging letter was duly received, & I need not tell your Lordship how happy I am to be assured that you are all in good health, & bear so well another, & not a very favorable, change of climate. Your Excellency's flattery will certainly make me vain, if it does not find me so. At all events I must ever be proud of your good opinion, & hope to continue so valuable an acquisition to the latest day of my life.
