Howard, of Reno, has been received; and I assure you that the matters complained of will be thoroughly investigated with a view to bringing about an improvement in our service. On the face of it, I am inclined to think that some of the statements made by Mr. Howard are entirely without any foundation; but they will all be inquired into nevertheless. Yours truly, (Signed). Complaint of Henry H. Howard: Mr. E. H. Walker, Secretary, Railroad Commission of Nevada, Carson City, Nevada. Dear Sir: Referring again to your letter of December 28th, and my acknoweldgement thereof, dated January first, on the above mentioned subject. I am today in receipt of a file of correspondence covering a minute investigation of each and every one of the complaints or statements made to you by Mr. Howard. Attached to these papers, by the way, are several communications from the Commercial Club of Reno, and others, congratulating us upon the improvement that has been made in the hauling of freight from Reno and Sparks east and south. Also attached to the correspondence is a statement showing the movement of less-than-carload shipments of freight from Reno and Sparks to points between Hazen and to points on the Tonopah & Goldfield Railroad during the last sixteen days of December, which movement it seems to me is as prompt as could be expected.
