About the Author
John Hall has never forgotten the language of childhood. He has the magical gift of seeing the world through the prism of a child s imagination. A former elementary grades teacher and educational consultant, John has now collaborated on several picture books with renowned illustrator and fellow Kansan, Stephen Gilpin. Mr. Hall, I ve been a librarian for 29 years. We look daily for books like yours to share with our children. While there are thousands of books published yearly, books like yours are rare. In Mickey McGuffin's Ear you have provided us with a character with whom we can identify, as well as love. I cannot imagine a child or adult who could read Mickey McGuffin's Ear without chuckling right out loud. Rich word patterning even more fun to read aloud. I read Mickey McGuffin's Ear to a third grade group today. THEY WENT BONKERS!! Absolutely loved it. All my kids could relate to forgetting something their mom told them. They were HOOKED!!
