Reseña del editor:
This collection of articles presents findings from the World Values Survey (WVS) and the European Values Survey (EVS). In planning the fourth wave of the World Values Survey, the Association set a high priority on attaining substantially better coverage of African countries and Islamic societies. As a result, the articles in this volume deal with the relationship between Islam and democracy, Islamic worldviews, culture and democratic institutions, and the changing role of gender. Survey findings cover societies such as Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Pakistan, India, and other regions of the world. Ronald Inglehart is the president of the World Values Survey Association and professor of political science and program director at the Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan.
