(Cora Evans) About the Author Cora Louisa Jorgasen was born in Utah on July 4, 1904, and was raised in a staunch Morman family and thoroughly immersed in the Mormon culture. Her paternal grandfather was Bishop James Jorgasen, a Mormon polygamist who had eight wives and twenty-one children. Cora's father was a son of the eighth wife. Her father died when she was six.Her mother remarried and they moved to Ogden, Utah. Cora was a sickly child who suffered from symptoms that were diagnosed at various times as polio, rheumatic fever, spinal arthritis and unspecified heart ailments. She missed a great deal of school and told a friend that she had only the equivalent of a sixth grade education. Cora married Mack Evans in June 1924 in the Mormon Temple. She had three childred, a son who died in infancy and two daughters who reside in California and Washington. Cora died in 1957 from cancer. In her last months, she was attended to by her friends Virgil and Mary Fortin, a Medical Doctor and Registered Nurse. Cora Evans was a wife, mother and dear friend to many who seek the truth.
