How to Become Dentally Self-Sufficient is the technical book, in layman's language, that allows anybody to care for family oral health at home, using common materials available from the corner drugstore. It is the only book of its kind; a major contribution to the self-help library of anyone who wants to save thousands of dollars while enjoying never-before-experienced freedom from dental disease.

Dr. Nara has received thousands of letters from readers of How To Become Dentally Self-Sufficient and participants in the Oramedics concepts Here is an excerpt from one of my favorites: Dear Dr. Nara - - I wish to thank you profusely for having restored to me the dental health I thought was a lost cause. My gums were badly receded and my lower front teeth were thoroughly barnacled with plaque. The lower front teeth – I almost forgot – were LOOSE too, and I was sure that by this time next year I would look like my own grandmother: toothless. Because I find visits to the dentist (my FATHER, incidentally) so thoroughly insufferable, and because I was – quite frankly – afraid to be told I would soon lose my bottom teeth, I knew I had to wangle some method of avoiding a dental confrontation – even if it meant something as ludicrous as mail-order dentistry...a concept I KNEW would only end up to be a con. In my nightmares I was waking up toothless; nightmares because they were not symbolic dreams – but foreboding reality, sooo petrified was I that I was even willing to try you. However, knowing everything as I do – I assumed my dental problems would grow unhindered by your probable uninterested intervention, and so purely as a matter of justice – to willfully inflict upon myself this meager effort at self- help, knowing it to be futile...simply what I deserved after years of neglect – I thrust myself at you. The single solitary fact of the matter – what I never DID anticipate though was that you might ACTUALLY do me any good. That came as a shock. Today my gums are pink, no bleeding, free of plaque, and the teeth ARE NOT loose. You actually saved my teeth. I never planned on that possibility....Most appreciatively, Barbara Sinclair. It pretty much tells it all! From the Author:
In 30 years of practicing dentistry, I've learned that there are five amazing factors about getting cavities and having gum problems that the PUBLIC DOES NOT KNOW. #1. Suffering cavities and or gum problems is a communicable disease...you catch it from someone else by kissing, using contaminated eating and drinking utensils, etc. #2. It's easy to cure it, as it is to catch it...it's really simple; you just need to know what's happening and what to do about it. #3. A nationwide survey shows that dentists themselves do not really understand the CAUSE or CURE of cavities and gum disease...so how can they teach it? (The cause and cure are explained in detail in the paperback: Money By The Mouthful.) #4. The REAL PROBLEM was first identified and related to the public in a book published in Philadelphia in 1819...bacterial colonies being allowed to grow out of hand, at the neck of the tooth. It's like ring around the collar...or neck of the tooth disease. (Self-help methods to cure these problems are found in the paperback book: How to Become Dentally Self- Sufficient.) #5 When people get with it by daily eliminating the cause...the body heals itself. The body regrows new healthy gums, calcium and phosphorus are deposited in areas of soft enamel and dentin, thus healing cavities. This is not so amazing to the many folks who already know, that given the chance...the body heals itself, this includes all tissues. Cavities can be made to heal, new bone will grow around the necks of loose teeth, and brand new gums will grow to replace diseased and receded gums. Some day, hopefully soon, the dental profession will become extinct...it will happen as soon as the public learns about the cause and cure of cavities and gum problems. No one I've ever known in over 30 years has not wanted to solve their own problems... once they know how.
