Davies-Black Publishing is proud and honored to publish this book that shows organizations how to move from purpose to action to build integrity, trust, and accountability into your organization. Praise for THE ACCOUNTABLE ORGANIZATION has come from:
"A timely alternative to the regulation mania from Washington directed toward elimination of corporate fraud. Delivers the intellectual framework, action plans, and inspiration required to transform any organization." Scott Flanders, Chairman and CEO, Columbia House Co.
"Practical guidance and sage advice for leaders at all levels who want to create companies based on integrity and trust." Robert A. Ingram, Vice Chairman, GlaxoSmithKline; former CEO, Glaxo Wellcome Plc
"Marchica clearly demonstrates the need to focus on accountability as a performance benchmark that will improve both corporate relationships and the bottom line." Lucian Spataro, Jr., Ph.D., Professor, The University of Arizona
"For those of you who have always bucked at the notion that 'nice guys finish last,' this book will give your instincts direction. For those who continue to steer a more Machiavellian course, this book provides powerful reason to change." Donald R. Lorenzen, J.D., former Partner, Sachnoff & Weaver, Ltd.
"A wonderful well-written book that reminds us of what our corporate standards need to be, without exception. A voice of reason at a time when people have forgotten the word integrity." Cristine Carlino, CEO, philosophy inc.
"John's vision of leadership through trust, integrity, and accountability is clearly the blueprint of success for any organization." Tom Rough, owner, Taglio SalonFrom the Author:
In recent years, I've become increasingly disenchanted with what I've seen of corporate America. The scandals, the roller-coaster ride in the equity markets, the rise and fall of the dot-com--we've all watched it happen. The media and government took notice, but it seemed that no one was offering any lasting solutions. There was a lot of posturing, but little meaningful action.
So began the process of writing my book, THE ACCOUNTABLE ORGANIZATION. As an entrepreneur, I wanted to address the topic of corporate integrity from a real-world perspective. Specifically, I sought to answer the question: What can each of us, as corporate citizens, do to turn things around?
My central premise is this: Accountable Organizations have a sustainable competitive advantage over less principled firms. An Accountable Organization has the people, systems, and processes necessary to ensure that good business decisions are being made. Its formal (and informal) leaders take responsible risks, manage and regulate conflict, and communicate effectively. An Accountable Organization plans, organizes, and executes with clarity and purpose.
In this kind of company, accountability and integrity aren't simply words to hang on the wall--they are values embodied by every constituent along the corporate chain. The end result? Increased trust, within the organization and without. Happier employees. Better products. And ultimately, a firm that's more competitive because it honors these fundamentals of good business.
I hope you enjoy THE ACCOUNTABLE ORGANIZATION.
