In anecdotal fashion, over 288 pages, the author tells the story of fishing in New Brunswick. Stories interspersed with b/w photos from the author's personal files. The narrative dates from when travel to the next town was by train, and highways were gravelled, and the fish warden boiled his tea in a billy-can on an open fire. Follow the author as he fly-fishes for salmon or trout up the Miramichi, Tobique, Nashwaak, Kedgwick and Restigouche Rivers. Cond : Boards are baby blue with gold spine lettering. End-papers are cream-coloured. One has name of p/o - NOW blacked (`blued') out and this has bled. Internals are BRIGHT, tight and clean. BOTH spines are fine. D.J. is white and blue. Cover illus. is colour photo of author in mid-stream about to net a HOOKED TROUT. D.J. is lightly frayed at spine top and tale, also top edge. One v. sm. piece missing at bottom point. Colours bright. Almost giftable. Quote (p. 23) : " . late evening settles over the river, I always tie on a No. 2-0. Why? Ask the salmon ! I seldom use a single-hook fly, nor do any of the guides I have fished with. As for the dry flies, I carry a few. I have seldom used leaders longer than nine feet - a preference I share with . ."
