Descripción Hardcover. Condición: Very Good+. Hardback in red cloth boards, gilt titles, in Very Good + condition. Dustwrapper price-clipped, previous owner's inscription on endpaper, otherwise also in Very Good + condition. In a clear protective archival wrapper. First edition, pp198, Frontispiece map of roads across Strathdearn, b&w illustrations and maps, index. A lively account of life in the Highlands over the centuries based on events and stories associated with a dozen or so miles of the A9 where it crosses the valley of the Findhorn (Strathdearn) on the way from Aviemore to Inverness. The Strath was for long rather inaccessible so that changes in the way of life there were slower in coming with the result that the memory has lingered on, particularly as it is an old Highland custom to pass on stories and traditions from generation to generation by word of mouth.
