There are few finer and more breathtaking railway journeys than those enjoyed in the Eastern hemisphere. Max Wade-Matthews, the contributing editor, is a freelance writer and historian. For four years he was the editor of the American Civil War magazine, House Divided, and is the author of several history books. He has been a member of the Milepost team and writes for them on locomotive and historical subjects.
