Moving to America with her husband and two small children she presided over the dazzling relaunch of the magazine, instantly becoming one of the most prominent figures in international media and fashion circles. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1993, while at the helm of HARPER'S BAZAAR; however, she continued to revitalise the magazine for the next seven years, while simultaneously battling her illness. She passed away in 1999.
