As employment patterns and management structures have changed, people who may have once spent their entire career climbing one corporate ladder are suddenly discovering that the ladder has disappeared. This turbulent environment means that individuals are now having to take more responsibility for the development of their own professional growth.
Employability tackles this crucial need for active career management by helping individuals acquire the skills necessary to achieve lifelong career success. Packed with detailed case studies, practical tips, and activity exercises, this book demonstrates how you can effectively deal with any obstacles you may encounter on the road to professional success. A vast range of relevant issues are covered, including: mapping a career path; improving your learning skills; the art of self-promotion; tackling interviews; managing stress; reviewing goals.
By participating in the activities presented in Employability, you will learn how to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses, develop strategic goals and, ultimately, package yourself in such a way that lifelong employability becomes the reality.
