Reseña del editor:
The 2nd Edition of this superb text is the only complete source available on neurological disease management in all domestic species of small and large animals. Like the first edition, this new edition contains outstanding illustrations and appendices, as well as helpful case studies and algorithms; however, it differs in that there is increased coverage of large animals. A standard among veterinarians.
Reseña del editor:
This book presents the subject of veterinary neurology in a simplified and manageable format. Using a step-by-step method for problem solving, this text facilitates understanding by presenting the logic of the underlying process. Emphasis is placed on the learning of concepts rather than on memorization of the process. Also included are algorithms, charts and tables to assist in diagnosis and treatment. The book focuses on the more common diseases, but does include lighter coverage of some rare diseases. Features include case histories at the end of each chapter; guidelines for choosing diagnostic tests; an appendix listing disease with breeding predilection; new material and examples of newer imaging techniques including CT scans; an analysis of the neurologic examination including anatomy, physiology, and how to interpret abnormal responses; coverage of a greater number of diseases of the large animal; more detail on important diseases such as cauda equine syndrome, polyneuropathies, inherited diseases, trauma and metabolic disease; two new chapters on "Pain" and "Disorders of Involuntary Movement"; a new table of poisonous plants causing neurologic disease in large animals.
