Let's Read Together: This Old Man - Tapa dura

This well-known rhyme combines the telling of the rhyme (which works well because of the ammount of repetition) and simple text based on key words for the child to read. It is designed for parental support and gives strong motivation to children because of the use of the familiar rhyme. It is tied in with the requirements of the National Curriculum reading targets, which highlight the value of nursery rhymes and traditional stories in helping children to learn to read.
