A Jedi adventure that is a direct prequel to the upcoming movie, Star Wars: Episode II. At the start of the upcoming Star Wars movie, Episode II, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are fresh off a mission on another world. This is the story of that mission. Obi-Wan and his Padawan, Anakin, are dispatched to the world of Ansion to deal with border disputes, as the Supreme Chancellor struggles desperately to hold his dying Republic together.

Alan Dean Foster has written in a variety of genres, including hard science fiction, fantasy, horror, detective, western, historical, and contemporary fiction. He is also the author of numerous non-fiction articles on film, science and scuba diving, as well as novel versions of several films including Star Wars and the first three Alien films. He and his wife, JoAnn Oxley, reside in Prescott, Arizona, in a house built of brick that was salvaged from a turn-of-the-century miners' brothel.
