The book is interesting because it captures Morrissey at the height of The Smiths, naturally assuming that they'll be around for many more years to come when in reality their career was short and sweet. 'There's absolute perfect harmony within the group,' says Morrissey in 1985. 'And as each day passes it becomes stronger, which is more I have no interest in solo success.' Just a few years later the quotes betray a Morrissey who is bitter about the sudden split and suggesting he's open to a reunion at any point as he embarks on the beginnings of a solo career that would lead to about a gazillion albums put out under his own name.
