Over eight previous editions for many supporters Aerofilms Guide: Football Grounds has become indispensable reference to away matches. This ninth edition has again been fully revised and includes information on the many ground alterations that have been completed over the past 12 months. Although it is now a decade since the Taylor Report led to the radical rethink of facilities at British sport venues, the changes to football stadia continue to appear thick and fast. Amongst major work recorded in this fully revised ninth edition are major developments at Valley Parade (Bradford City), Villa Park (Aston Villa), Bloomfield Road (Blackpool), The Valley (Charlton Athletic) and Upton Park (West Ham United). In addition, the new champions of the Football Conference will bring another changed ground into the Football League; whether it is Rushden and Diamonds or Yeovil, there will be a new challenge for the many 'ground hoppers' at the start of the 2001/2002 season. Further changes for the new edition, reflecting the loss of Wembley Stadium, is the incorporation of the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff (where all major finals are due to be held whilst Wembley is rebuilt) and the new stadium at Southampton. The latter replaces The Dell, the smallest ground by some distance in the Premiership. In the future, further new grounds are proposed at a number of locations - including Arsenal, Bournmouth, Coventry City, Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool and Swansea - and see many familiar grounds disappear. As before, the book includes an aerial photo-map of each ground allowing the reader to locate the stadium in relation to the surrounding streets and public transport facilities. Detailed information is also provided about telephone numbers, addresses, parking and much else. In a change for the new edition, in order to make the book more 'user-friendly' to visiting fans, the ninth edition includes plans of the actual grounds identifying blocks and disabled facilities in place of the usual player photographs. The book will, however, retain its popular sketch of each club's season.
