S. Jean was born in Colorado and raised in the small Rocky Mountain town of Bailey. A combination of upbringing and the atmosphere of this small community is what stirred her curious nature about life, religion, spirituality, and the human story. In 2006, after several years of acute life experience, personal study of philosophy, religion, and spirituality, with a journalism degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in one hand and baby in the other S. Jean began putting together the makings of, My Life Book. This idea came while recording her son's first moments in his baby book, trying to figure out how to inspire and provide direction to the teenage step-daughter she was raising, and wondering about the purpose and legacy of her own life. Creating a book for all the phases of a human being's life, inspiration for along its path, space to document vital experiences, memories, and love, with one place to record and keep it all is the result of that single moment. S. Jean is still residing in Colorado, raising her son and step-daughter, and trekking an every day journey of the human spirit along the side of her husband of ten years. Habitually writing in her Anitome, she is grateful for this one book her children and grandchildren can open anytime to read about the story and wisdom of her life, meanwhile, knowing they too will be able to pass on the same gift.
