Initially he is convinced that the girl has been abducted for human sacrifice - only to find that he may be the revellers' quarry. ISBN in book is 0600394648 which is wrong. Previous owner's name writ large on the inside of the front cover with a pencil note underneath page 140 "the thirty- first of April", and on page 140, there is a pencil on the lining of the phrase.
