"Dear Chris is a story written, in part, for an inmate named Chris who now sits in a Texas prison through 2013. It's also written for all the other inmates in the world, including the addicts and alcoholics. It's written for the lonely mother, the angry father, the son who's hooked viciously on crack, the promiscuous daughter, and for the family who hasn't spoken to each other in years. It's written for the mother and father who tried everything in the world to no avail, for the wife who's been beaten, or whose family has been wrecked due to her husband's anger. It's written for those in pain. It's written for anyone who is lonely, scared, lost, or suffering."

Rodd is now rebuilding his life in Dallas, Texas.
