This casebook helps students integrate theory into practice by showing how practitioners have applied clinical principles to real-world situations. The lively, action-based, and pragmatic presentation of the cases helps students accumulate experience in thinking and reasoning as applied to different aspects of clinical work, resulting in more effective clinical practice.

"A much needed book using children and adolescent case studies. This text will be a terrific teaching tool in practice methods class."
"This text provides a wide array of cases that illustrate the kinds of problems human service workers address in practice. The cases illustrate a wide variety of interventions and methods of practice. The cases include many different cultural backgrounds. The presentation of the cases is not standardized, but allows the 'voice' of the author of the chapter to emerge."
"The diversity of examples, the thick descriptive detail, the strengths perspective found throughout the examples, the breadth of content, the inclusion of interventions on individuals, families, groups, the variety of settings are all strengths of this book."
