A state-of-the-art review of the use of cubic equations of state to model vapor-liquid mixtures of all degrees of nonideality. Recently developed mixing rules have greatly increased the accuracy and range of applicability of such equations. The book includes a disk with computer programs that allow the user to test all of the models considered.

Críticas:
"This material...like the rest of the book, is written in a style that is concise, accurate and readable...This book will be useful to chemical engineers, physical chemists and others interested in VLE (vapour-liquid equilibria) problems. I am pleased to recommend it." Chemistry in Britain

"...an excellent summary and evaluation of recent models for calculating vapor-liquid equilibria of fluids and fluid mixtures of interest to engineers in practice...An appendix summarizes the models and equations used throughout the text in a clear and easy format to read. This may be the most important aspect of this work from the standpoint of the practising engineer." TRANS ICHEME
Reseña del editor:
Cubic equations of state are frequently used in the chemical and petroleum industries to model complex phase behavior and to design chemical processes. Recently developed mixing rules have greatly increased the accuracy and range of applicability of such equations. This book presents a state-of-the-art review of this increasingly important topic and discusses the use of cubic equations of state to model the vapor-liquid behavior of mixtures of all degrees of nonideality. A special feature of the book is that it includes a disk of computer programs for all the models discussed, along with tutorials on their use. With the programs and tutorials, readers can easily reproduce the results reported and test all the models presented with their own data to decide which will be most useful in their own work. This book will be an invaluable tool for chemical engineers, research chemists, and those involved in the simulation and design of chemical processes.
