Excerpt from The "Wills-O'-the-Wisp" Of Disease, Vol. 13: For the Medical Profession
Thus it is that there have sprung into ready use many convenient expressions, for the purpose of covering an ignorance that in itself is no fault, but which it would, nevertheless, be highly inconvenient to acknowledge. The intangible and mystic phases of a so-styled neurosis or hysteria, for instance, form tempting labyrinths into which inquisitive friends may be led without much likelihood of their finding a way out.
