The Clinical Relevance of Kindling - Tapa dura

In this book the clinical relevance of kindling is explored for the first time. A number of conditions such as epilepsy, manic depressive psychosis and addiction states, in which a process similar to kindling may be of vital importance, are selected for special discussion. Kindling is seen as a general neurobiological process which may be relevant to a number of clinical conditions in addition to being an interesting experimental animal model of epilepsy. The possible implications of kindling hypothesis in relation to several neuropsychiatric disorders for treatment is fully explored.
